A curved high-rise building is under construction in London, UK accidentally reflects the sun, melting cars parked below.

The expanded architecture above unintentionally turns the 37-storey building named 20 Fenchurch Street in London into a giant concave mirror looking south. It is said to be the cause of cars parked underneath, distorting the drivers.

Entrepreneur Martin Lindsay was furious when the steel frame along his Jaguar XJ was distorted by light from the glass-clad skyscraper. Another driver said that the sunlight melted the whole package of potato fried in the car.

To test the temperature, a reporter successfully fried the omelette at the foot of the building. According to an electronic thermometer measuring the ground temperature, where sunlight reflected from the building is 69.8 degrees Celsius. Knowing this result, road users are really surprised by the heat of the reflected light.

To temporarily resolve this situation, investors plan to build a 4-meter-wide, 15-meter-long curtain to shield people and businesses nearby. In the long run, they are not planning to fundamentally change the structure of the building, but are looking for other measures such as using a sheet of chemical film that covers the glass to diffuse the sun.
